1/6/2014

The first day of second semester! Not really excited actually, but super tired(still pretty jet-lagged).
Anyways, today in miss V's math class we learned the first method, and probably the fundamental one, of linear equations. Here is one example:
X+Y= 10
-2X-8Y=40
Because according to equation 1, Y= 10-X
-2X-8(10-X)=40
-2X-80+8X=40
6X=120
Solution:  X=20
                Y= -10
It is pretty simple to solve the equation, huh?
We also applied the method to practical life in the notion of break-even point. This concept is the point of balance between making either a profit or a loss. The term originates in finance, but it has been applied widely since. In other words, our mission is to make the total cost equal to total revenue.
      Initial investment cost+ production price per unit*number of units= units sold * selling price per unit
